... local gov't should be nearly the only gov't.

I've always liked that idea. Unfortunately, 'local' is getting bigger and bigger.

first - thank you, smrose and warden and teacher. great idea (hopefully it becomes it's own contained room one day.)

i'd like to start a specific topic (since i don't think any real issues have been brought up yet)...

we are all for small government. all of us can't wait until the wasteful and pointless spending stops. it would free up trillions of dollars a year and bring efficiency to the system.

however, we still need government to enforce some areas of society (like law enforcement). and i don't think the republican party (specifically Ron Paul since i followed his campaign closest) has a sufficient stance on this that would make Americans feel (specifically liberal conservatives or left-leaning undecideds) that an economically and financially sound "small government" would still ensure their freedom and liberty is being protected.

i think a lot of undecideds and left-leaning conservatives end up voting democrat because they don't trust small government will ensure their well being.

case in point:

every time incidences like this happen, there is a HUGE public outcry, and subsequent push to strengthen regulations in the private sector. we need to STOP these incidences before they become public outrage. once they are public outrage, there is little stopping more and more regulations.

so, my question to the conservative form: what regulations do you propose be implemented to PREVENT things like this from happening in the future?

(no regulation will never happen, so let's drop that stance right off the bat. we need simple and smart regulation that is easily implemented, easily managed, and poses a very small footprint on the path of free market.)

i think the full 12 hours of crickets is deserving now...

(awesome update to the site: automatically play video when the user scrolls said video into view.)

Cruz is goin' to come on Strong, bet on it. He will be solid in the debates.

Jindal will also be good in the debates, and he is a successful Governor.

As stated, I would take any Two of'em...

Don't let the Tards pick the Candidates.

Fuck'em.

America will choose. Lots of Independents and disgruntled Democrats this time 'round.

Hopie-Change is Stalinist at this point.

Don't let the Tards pick the Candidates.

It's a tough job to stop them. The dead ones keep voting, the live ones vote more than once, and the recounts seem to add even more votes to their side. Then there's the media, who will decide in some cases. Conservatives have to win by a significant margin before the 'tards shut the hell up and accept it.

Maybe I missed it...but so far I haven't found any liberal media reporting on this racist black professor.

I guess they don't want their audience knowing about it?

Hey Shaman - I'm an atheist ... wtf does that have to do with being 'liberal' or 'conservative'?

And by the way, you're gay.

Of course they can't report this. They don't recognize that racism exists in the Black community. According to them, racists are White only ... by definition.

Any thoughts on rewriting the 17th amdt to have direct appointment of legal citizen residents of age?

I think it would take alot of money out of politics and self interest out as well.

If the Governors vote in congress, which his Senator should execute, was based on 'his' state's direct problems, then the southern border states would likely be allied against illegal migration ... for example.

The campaigning candidate would tour w/ 'his' prospective senators and be the team to beat.

Better candidates would mean more gravitas and better state specific legislation instead of the two national teams like it is now.

Since they never leave, senators now are just nationalist regardless if their state gets hammered by syupid legislation.

This has to end.

Too much democracy.

Any thoughts?

The graft and corruption would come to a screeching halt if we had term limits and capital punishment for cheaters.

Any thoughts?

Again, teacher's first... thing to solve the ills of America...

1. Term limits.

Yup. Term limits would stop being a politician from being a career and turn it into nothing more than a civil duty like jury duty. It's not about lining your wallets, keeping your job or making friends in the right places or appeasing brainless voters. Do your job with good ideas or bad and GTFO and go get a real job like they want all us veterans to do after we get used and abused by our government. There wouldn't be the self-preservation aspect that all government employees/dependents have held over their heads all their lives that they vote based off of. Who here would vote for the removal of their free/easy life coming from government jobs or handouts? Not too many people would. Fuck, most wouldn't even let 4 short years of their life go for your country, doubt they would let go of that nice healthcare or retirement or those food stamps or cash assistance some. Dems don't seem to understand that human beings are not perfect and government is made up of nothing but imperfect people.

The libs think we only have to fill government up with the right people ... liberals, of course ... and everything will be perfect.

I know. Are they that concieted that they think their train of thought can fix the world...the world that to this day has still not been perfected through God knows how many different types and sizes of civilizations. But yeah, I guess it's the 21st century and shits different this time I suppose. I mean look, I personally believe human beings CAN be perfect. But I think that point in our genetic and intellectual evolution is WAYYYY down the road to the point none of our great grandkids will be millenia close to it. We are not ready to become one again and until we are we can't act like we're perfect and we're God. The Soviet Union doesn't exist for a pretty good reason right now.

Boss, front and center!

So skews is b!tching. My idea is to allow skews one post and one post only right here.

Let him have his say.

Then you have a rebuttal, and I have a rebuttal, so we should allow skews a reply to each of those rebuttals.

skews gets three as long as the second and third deal with us.

We go from there.

Might as well have us some fun.

I'm down. I'm not scared to hear what someone has to say. Honestly this thread isn't as much fun as it could be without them in here, it's just fair that's all :) Maybe they will feel the results of their constant actions and not enjoy so much the voicelessness of their censorship.

1. Term limits.

I say the liberal is again term limits cause the liberal has found a bunch-o-fu(ks like Pelosi and Dingy Harry that they can trust in to look the camera in the eye and spew lies.

People like that may be hard to replace. Well, there's Wasserman-Schultz...

Wasserman_Schultz_1_1.png

but then she'd be term limited too, wouldn't she?

We conservatives, on the other hand, have no problem with finding people to look the camera in the eye and say the truth.

That's the short version to backing up term limits.

I been on this obsession for a decade, how many posts must that be in The Mighty Horse Thread on this very issue?

That's why I ain't linking to them right now, too much work.

And it's such a powerful fix that it will never be implemented by current politicians. I'd say our best bet is to have someone take control and kick congress out and appoint new members with term limits. Unfortunately, this is unrealistic because just like liberals, we would have to put perfect trust in an imperfect human being and short of George Washington, I don't think too many these day and age would refuse to remain King of America.
