Marijuana U.S.A.!!!

Recommended Posts

August 2, 2016 - "Earl Blumenauer is an Oregon congressman. Yet he’s traveled to places such as Maine to help pass marijuana legalization initiatives in several states this fall.

Blumenauer, a longtime marijuana advocate, recently took time to discuss national cannabis politics with Marijuana Business Daily.

Voters in nearly a dozen states may be voting in November on whether to legalize recreational or medical marijuana. The results could have enormous implications for the marijuana industry at both the state and national levels.

Blumenauer – a Democrat from a state where recreational and medical marijuana are legal – is going out of his way to help sway the upcoming elections. Last month, for example, he appeared in Las Vegas on behalf of the Campaign to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol, the group spearheading a Nevada ballot measure to legalize recreational cannabis."

Nfl players union needs to be supported more by the public , in their battle with greedy rich 1% owners. Who want there blood sweat and tears but aren't willing to budge an inch when it comes to allowing LIFE SAVING medicine like non addictive cannabis products (CBD OIL). I have watched the NFL religiously since 1990 but this year I m disturbed by the NFL doctors pushing dangerous pharmaceutical drugs while ignoring cannabis.

"President Barack Obama says that passage of state laws legalizing and regulating the use of marijuana calls into question the future of federal prohibition.

Speaking in a taped interview with Bill Maher prior to the election, Obama said, "This referenda, to some degree it's gonna call into question federal marijuana prohibition, because if in fact it passed in all these states, you now have about a fifth of the country that's operating under one set of laws, and four-fifths in another."

He added, "The Justice Department, DEA, FBI, for them to try to straddle and figure out how they're supposed to enforce laws in some places and not in others. ...

That is not gonna be tenable."

"Californias recreational cannabis industry could eventually generate between $4.5 billion and $5 billion in annual retail sales, making it by far the most attractive market for business opportunities of the states that legalized last week, according to estimates released Wednesday.

Marijuana Business Daily’s editorial director, Chris Walsh, revealed the projection during his speech at the Marijuana Business Conference & Expo in Las Vegas.

“It’s clear – California is going to reclaim its mantle as the capital (of the cannabis trade),” Walsh said during his keynote address at the conference Wednesday morning.

He also offered up estimates for the other seven states that passed cannabis measures on Election Day.

Marijuana Business Daily previously announced that all new markets the election paved the way for could post a combined $7 billion-$8 billion in retail sales down the road, but the publication hadn’t released a breakdown until today.

The California estimates offer a look at just how big the state’s marijuana industry could become once the market hits its stride. If the estimates hold true, California’s recreational marijuana shops would bring in more than the entire industry is expected to generate in retail sales this year."

I think Obama will delist it before he goes

I doubt that any president has the power to do that. It would be great if he could, but I don't think that he can.

I am sure that some people will stay high way too much of the time, just as too many people stay drunk too much of the time. But overall, I think it will be a plus to legalize marijuana. Alcohol is far more deadly that pot, and it turns some people into mean drunks. Pot rarely, if ever turns anyone into a mean pothead. Plus, it doesn't make you throw up, and it doesn't give anyone a hangover.

It can make you cough a lot, but so what?

"The prestige of government has undoubtedly been lowered considerably by the prohibition law. For nothing is more destructive of respect for the government and the law of the land than passing laws which cannot be enforced. It is an open secret that the dangerous increase of crime in this country is closely connected with this."

"Denver voters have passed an initiative to allow cannabis consumption in public businesses such as bars and restaurants, overcoming initial predictions the measure faced an uphill battle.

As of 2 a.m. ET on Tuesday, Initiative 300 had received 53.31% of the approximately 302,000 votes that had been counted. The official election results won’t be certified until Nov. 22.

Denver Relief Consulting, the lead proponent of the initiative, declared victory, adding that it was a win for Denver adults who can “now gather socially and use products of their choice.”

"The giant beverage company that owns Corona beer and Svedka vodka is considering entering the cannabis industry via MJ-laced libations, a sign that other big players in the alcohol business may eye cannabis as an opportunity rather than a threat.

Constellation Brands CEO Rob Sands confirmed in an interview with Bloomberg that his corporation is “looking at” the marijuana trade. “There are going to be alcoholic beverages that will also contain cannabis,” he observed.

Sands added that it only makes sense for companies like his to get into a market that is expected to rival the salty snacks sector in North America by 2026, Bloomberg reported.

“Why wouldn’t big business, so to speak, be acutely interested in a category of that magnitude?” Sands said. “If there’s a lot of money involved, it’s not going to be left to small mom-and-pops.”

"A strip mall in Aurora, Colorado, has undergone a $1 million renovation to reemerge as a marijuana-themed shopping center.

The consolidation helps to circumvent a problem that marijuana businesses often face: finding a sympathetic landlord.

The Aurora Hemp Marketplace, outside Denver, offers a dispensary, a head shop and a cultivation supply store, among others, according to Denver’s ABC affiliate.

The once-struggling shopping mall has gone from 60% occupancy to nearly 95% since the facelift, and business owners say the traffic to their stores is steady."

"States that passed marijuana measures earlier this month eventually could generate more in annual retail MJ sales than the entire U.S. cannabis industry is expected to, this year.

Though these new markets will take time to develop, they present tremendous opportunities for entrepreneurs looking to capitalize on the results of the election.

California, Maine, Massachusetts and Nevada all passed ballot measures legalizing recreational marijuana on Nov. 8, while Arkansas, Florida and North Dakota legalized medical cannabis.

Montana already had MMJ laws on the books, but voters passed an initiative to allow regulated medical marijuana businesses to operate and sell product to patients in the state.

The current recreational cannabis market will bring in an estimated $1.4 billion-$1.7 billion in retail sales by the end of 2016, according to the Marijuana Business Factbook."

"It wasnt too many years ago that groups such as the Marijuana Policy Project, the Drug Policy Alliance and a few others were the only formally organized pro-cannabis associations in the United States.

But as the cannabis industry has spread, a variety of marijuana organizations – particularly dozens of trade groups – have cropped up.

There’s also the question of which trade groups will stand the test of time. Those that do will likely see their proverbial stock rise over the years, alongside organizations such as Marijuana Policy Project and Drug Policy Alliance.

Bulbulyan pointed to Women Grow as one group that will probably be around for a long time.

“Because they’re very focused on furthering women in the industry, and not doing it for a quick return, they’re able to pick up a lot of members across the country,” Bulbulyan said. “The ones that set up with just a 12-month agenda … they won’t. Because once their agenda is irrelevant, they just don’t have the natural evolution into the next stage.”
