When you have kids of course because I do have them around. Guns that is.. Not kids.. Lol and I'm drunk. Drunk with your loaded guns? Or do you even know where they are right now? Not much to "Lol" about there. Between 1963 and 2010 52,183 US soldiers were killed in action in the Vietnam, Aghan, and Iraq wars combined. During the same time period, three times as many (166,500) children and teens died right here on American soil from guns.
TxRanger
Guns don't start killing people just because I went to the bar. are you for banning guns or gun safety?
PolitiMom
Guns don't start killing people just because I went to the bar. are you for banning guns or gun safety? Both, but until such time as the former can be achieved, I'll take the latter. Guns kill more children under 5 than law enforcement officers in the line of duty. 82 children under 5 died from guns in 2010, compared to 55 law enforcement officers killed by guns in the line of duty. (I sincerely hope you didn't take your guns to the bar)
TxRanger
http://www.childdeathreview.org/statisticsTX.htm look here at Texas. The least most common way for children to die unintentionally is guns. If you mean homicide... That's already illegal.
TxRanger
That's 11 out out of 847. Half are caused by automobiles.. Why don't we ban those? What do you use your guns for mom?
TMT
Guns don't kill people, people kill people. In the words of Eowyn from Lord of the Rings, "Those who don't wield swords (or guns) can still die upon them." People make choices. I will protect my rights and others rights if someone tries to take them away. No one has the right to take someone else's life or threaten their agency. Anyone who owns a gun must realize that they are dangerous and should be locked up and never be loaded unless in use. Talk to your kids; educate them on safety, but don't be afraid to protect yourself and those you love.
PolitiMom
"Eighty six percent of gun deaths and 89 percent of gun injuries in 2010 occurred in 15 to19 year olds." "Hand guns are made for killin'Ain't no good for nothin' elseAnd if you like your whiskeyYou might even shoot yourselfSo why don't we dump 'em peopleTo the bottom of the seaBefore some fool come around hereWanna shoot either you or me"
TxRanger
People die... More from many other things than guns. 100% of people killed by things are dead. Stats mean nothing without perspective. why do you believe I shouldn't have a gun?
PurpleParty
Did you know you're 8 times more likely to be killed by the police than by terrorists? Maybe we should ban the police.
TxRanger
Nwa already suggested that.
PurpleParty
The police are weapons whose sole purpose is to cause or threaten harm. Why not advocate for their abolition?
