I posted this in liberals only by mistake and I was going to remove it but I figured WTF and though maybe it would be interesting to get an all liberal perspective.

Biblical Christians are a menace to everyone. The Bible is bunk and Jesus Christ was a false Messiah. The same holds true for guys like Sharpton and Jessie Jackson who preach Black liberation theology. I guess these guys have ignored what the Bible says about Blacks and Slavery.

Blacks would be wise to reject the cruel racist God portrayed in the "holy' scriptures and replace him with something better. I would suggest they go with Joe Pesci or Snoop Dog.

Why do I say the Bible is bunk? The Bible is bunk because the two main characters God and Jesus did not write one single word that appears in the Bible.

Reverend Wright was right! A just god would damn America!

A Racist God Slaughters Blacks

"And there came out against them Zerah the Ethiopian with an host of a thousand thousand, and three hundred chariots..." (II Chronicles 14:9)

So the LORD smote the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled. (II Chronicles 14:12)

Comment From The Messiah

It appears that Black Christian Bible studies programs ignore these verses, for it says that the Lord God slaughtered over a million blacks.

The association of black with evil goes far back in Western Christian culture. The early Church fathers, Origen, Jerome, and Augustine of Hippo wrote about devils appearing as Ethiopians.

White racist groups (such as the Ku Klux Klan who think of themselves as opposite of black devils) see these Biblical verses as evidence to justify their beliefs. We still hear phrases such as "Prince of Darkness" or "Black magic" which link blackness with sin.

In the story of Ham and Japheth, the word "ham" has connotations of "hot" and "dark" in Semitic languages. To the ancient Israelites, as well as some modern Jews and Christians, the "children of Ham" had dark skin and lived in eastern Africa. Thus they see the "Curse of Ham" as a link with black skin and sexual license.

All rather silly to read Western 21st century views into ancient literture. The Bible is a reflexion on humn kind. Whatever you find that you don't like there you can find the same in every human endevor.

God created man in his own image; cruel, dishonest, egomanical, unjust, jealous, vengeful...

The God portrayed in the Bible is pure evil.

If only this sentiment could become a popular working reality. It's the opposite of the vastly influential and insidious Ayn Rand philosophy which has encouraged acquisitive sociopaths to grab for power, harming everyone else.

To "WORK TO BETTER OURSELVES AND THE REST OF HUMANITY" is a realistic and high aspiration. But greed works against it. Insecurity also.

For the poor and deprived, "THE ACQUISITION OF WEALTH" must of necessity, remain a "DRIVING FORCE". Only those already well-off, emotionally secure and socially concerned are able to live their lives according to Jean-Luc's sentiment. Recently, they seem to be getting fewer and farther-between.

Maybe that's why so many blacks either sympathize with or have converted to some form of Islam. The Koran however also has much racist sentiment http://prophetofdoom.net/Islamic_Quotes_Racism.Islam and there was a large Muslim, Arab slave trade in sub-Saharan Africa. Unfortunately, many people, of all colors and ethnic origins feel the need to identify with an organized religion.

Both Sharpton and Jackson are highly political as well as religious leaders as was MLK. Malcolm X was a leader in the "Nation of Islam". I feel it would be good for black self esteem if their most prominent leaders were not so closely associated with religion. In my view, it would be great if an esteemed scientist like for instance Neill Degrasse Tyson could convert to political leadership. But that doesn't seem to be in the cards at the moment.

There is however, a new generation of educated, vocal and politically aware blacks coming up and new leaders might arise that don't depend on religion for their charisma.

I am agnostic and feel organized religions have done more harm than good. Basically, I agree with your views on the bible but I am not nearly as involved with it as you seem to be. The principle significance of the bible, for me is historical and poetic.

Empirical evidence may be found as a stone in my yard. I've not looked under the stone, but I have great faith based upon the writing of Traninit The Divine that if I turn that specific rock over, it will reveal an entrance to the 4th dimension.

Well we could say Sharpton was incomplete, same for even Jackson, yet we could also say that same thing about a ton of white people who are ill informed spreading nonsense. I mean, as a white person I would much rather be represented by the likes of Sharpton and Jackson than the likes of Rush or most of the talking heads on FOX.

Now are people, a whole generation misguided by these white fools almost as if it was a movement? Could that be plausible?

Oh we all know people get on the fast track, sometimes for reasons that don't add up regarding intellect, but are you suggesting that black Americans are monolithic?

To me that sounds kind of racist.

Peace!
