Fake Liberals on this Forum

Recommended Posts

I've noticed a growing trend of fake liberals & progressives. These guys stood side by side when I and many posted the corruption and abuse of power that had gone on during the Bush administration.

These guys would point out how our wars of aggression are causing destruction, mass murder, and chaos all on the backs of the US tax dollars and the lives of our soldiers.

I remember clearly these guys protesting with me against the patriot act and it's invasion of privacy. I remember the call for his impeachment for war crimes when he had opened Gitmo.

Yet here we are, with Obama who follows in his footsteps. I can understand those who didn't pay much attention to him during his first term. I was one of them who thought this guy would change our policies, this guy would unite the people behind him. Bring our troops home from Iraq, hold the corporations that are corrupt from using government influence. End lobbyism, end bailouts end corporatism.

He said all the right things but in the end he turned out to be just another Bush.

Here are some examples of Obama & his admin's corporatism

The TPP recently pushed for Pharma monopolies and extened copyright.

The ACA panders to insurance companies.

The NDAA, DHS, TSA, FED FBI and other alphabet soup agencies that strip us of our rights for big government.

The monsanto corruption (which has gone on through Both bush's and Cheney) Obama has appointed 3 people recently who have formely been affiliated with Monsanto. Monsanto donated to a repub from Missouri who wrote legislation HR 933 in which practically grants Monsanto the right for deregulation, if the Secretary of agriculture wishes it, on GMOs.

Toppling dictators in his even more aggressive war policy: we now have drones in Yemen, drones in pakistan, more sanctions on N.Korea, more sanctions on Iran, borderline war with Syria -as he advocated for intervention based on false UN reports -the report wasn't false but the interpretation was. Now we are messing around in South Sudan.

Oh we have pulled out of Iraq, but are spending just as much building their nation up.

The thing is there is no defense for Obama, this is blatant corporatism. If you still are trying to defend him, you are following sheep herd mentality. He is your leader sheep and you feel that you need to defend him, despite the fact that he goes against liberty and equality.

Nope he's just another Bush, a war monger, a corporate bought and paid for shill.

If you are angry, if you still think you can defend the undefendable, then you are a FAKE liberal a Fake progressive, someone who doesn't care as long as their party gets in the WH.

This guy on Youtube points it out way clearer than I can:

the fact is, I stopped posting on Huffington post, because it was impossible to get through to people. I found myself getting into flame wars. But I also found myself making people think twice.

That was.. until they prevented me from commenting until I verified my facebook account.

Which I will not do, with people getting death threats, fired from their jobs, revenge porn by the most hated man on the internet, they can kiss my butt if they think I'm going to give any info away.

TheLiberalRP,

I completely agree with you.

Unfortunately, both major parties are at the service of their Corporate and Financial masters.

True progressives are rare, that is why the Democratic Party keeps moving more and more to the right on anything that has to do with power and money, while using token social issues as weapons of mass distraction.

I never believed in Obama and I didnt vote for him. I voted for first Gloria La Riva, then second I voted for Jill Stein. I only regret voting for Jill Stein, as I grew dissilusioned with the Green Party. Having voted also for John Kerry, who I now hate, I can honestly the best feeling I had was voting for the Socialist candidate. After leaving city hall from voting for Gloria La Riva, I actually felt more free, like I had dodged another John Kerry scam. It turned out to be right.

michijo,

I did vote for Obama in 2008. After he has revealed himself as just another 1%er at the service of Bankers, I have decided that I will never vote again for a 1%er and only vote for true progressives.

I certainly share your frustration, but i will never grow disillusioned of the few alternatives we have. In the end, notwithstanding claims to the contrary, us voters do have alternatives to the 2 major parties. It is up to voters to take advantage of the alternatives, and NOT vice-versa.

I thought the Green Party was good, but I believe in the secular government, and the Green Party is heavily Christian oriented. After getting to know them, and talking to older members, it finally struck me that it was even more religious than Democrats! So watch out for them. There were plenty who said God Bless Jill Stein.

I would like a strong party that would correct the US relationship with Latin America, even though I am not a Latino but a normal caucasion American. John Kerry called for a recount of votes in Venezuala's Nicolas Maduro win. Well, we never got a recount in his election either. Then, he continually calls for the head of Edward Snowden. Latin American nations were of the only to offer asylum. I fully back Evo Morales and what seems a very soft sort of socialism. I am not overly fond of Cuba however.

Do you think we really need these catch words like Peace, Hope, Faith, Love? I find these ideas strangely rudimentary and cliche. I feel like people are misled by themselves.

I find these words unrealistic and exclusive. They exist to exclude their opposites and are a sort of fantasy reality. By talking about Love you imply Hate where there is no Hate. By talking about Peace you imply Disorder.

If I was feeling vulgar, I would say it is a handful of poop. The picture is called "My Pooh Words".

The problem is, if you didn't vote for Obama you would be giving your vote to Romney, unfortunate as that is.

We are stuck in the mud, not just with the president but with the congress, both the house and senate.

I would say however that there are folks who would push a more progressive agenda then Obama. This might, get people standing up with whom ever that may be, might, but not likely. It's almost impossible getting a third party candidate into office since they are not even allowed to be in the debates - which are pretty much awful.

People sit on the sidelines too much after the presidential elections. Obama is centrist at best but he could be pushed to do the right thing if there were enough people pushing a progressive agenda.

Peace!

And Obama did absolutely nothing that I found had any value until recently he outed Democratic senators by accusing them of pressing sanctions against Iran as a runup to war with Iran. This was the only good thing he did so far in my opinion. Before that he was happy to bomb Libya with depleted uranium. I am strongly against deplete Uranium, and the Democrats always use it. Bill Clinton dropped it on the Serbs too. The idea of a Serbia civilian poisoned with Depleted Uranium is much more important than "who you vote for" in the USA, when both main parties are prone to drop this on civilian areas because it is so strong it destroys tank armor but poisons the land.

It's amazing that liberals can walk and chew gum at the same time. They are the Pelosi's, Waxman's, Boxer's, Finestein's Frank's

Schumer's. The list is endless as is their unquenchable thirst to destroy America.

Did Obama ever claim to be a liberal? I think he is a moderate but that doesn't seem to be a political category anymore.

Why do we have to chose "liberal" or "conservative" or fucing "green party"

--Well if you're gonna play this game you've got to chose a side.

---In the narrow parameters set forth by a bunch a rich guys

--That seem to think the best thing for everyone is if they make more money! ITS THE ONLY WAY!!!

---Ha!

The essence of what political parties are is POWER. No conscience, no morals just power.

WOW! I did not know that there were lots of Christians in the Green Party! Thank you for that info. I'm the publisher/editor of the first neo-Pagan magazine (published since 1968) and I wrote and asked for an interview with Jill Stein, thinking for sure she'd want to be interviewed by the most well-known, iconic magazine for Pagans, Wiccans and anyone who follows an earth-based spiritual path. At first she said yes but when she looked at our magazine, I never heard from her again. I had thought the Greens were mostly environmentally based, and figured who could be more environmentally-conscious than people with an earth-based spiritual tradition? Turns out I was wrong. I never heard from her again. Now I know why and I very much appreciate your information on this.

alang1216,

I think Obama is indeed a moderate. Just like CNN has become more Fox News-like to wrest away the competition, that's probably why the Democrats are imitating the Republicans. But it doesn't matter, I'll be moving as soon as I can save up enough.
