truthwarrior757
THE NEVER ENDING NIGHTMARE THAT IS OBAMACARE, AND IT'S ONLY THE BEGINNING Higher Deductibles Fueling Obamacare ‘Sticker Shock’Why have insurance?Via the Senate Republicans: “…many people with modest incomes are encountering a troubling element of the federal health law: deductibles so steep they may not be able to afford the portion of medical expenses that insurance doesn’t cover.” (“High Deductibles Fuel New Worries Of Health-Law Sticker Shock,” The Wall Street Journal, 12/8/13) “…as consumers dig into the details, they are finding that the deductibles and other out-of-pocket costs are often much higher than what is typical in employer-sponsored health plans.” (“On Health Exchanges, Premiums May Be Low, But Other Costs Can Be High,” The New York Times, 12/9/13) “The average individual deductible for what is called a bronze plan on the exchange—the lowest-priced coverage—is $5,081 a year… That is 42% higher than the average deductible of $3,589 for an individually purchased plan in 2013 before much of the federal law took effect, according to HealthPocket Inc., a company that compares health-insurance plans for consumers.” (“High Deductibles Fuel New Worries Of Health-Law Sticker Shock,” The Wall Street Journal, 12/8/13) ID Man: ‘the deductibles were so high — $4,000 to $6,000 a year — that it defeats the purpose of having insurance’ “Mark A. York, a 60-year-old freelance writer in Hailey, Idaho, said he began shopping after he received a letter saying that his current insurance policy would be canceled because it did not meet the requirements of the health care law. In the exchange, he said, he found policies with premiums similar to what he is now paying, $440 a month, but ‘the deductibles were so high — $4,000 to $6,000 a year — that it defeats the purpose of having insurance.’” (“On Health Exchanges, Premiums May Be Low, But Other Costs Can Be High,” The New York Times, 12/9/13) CA Woman: Deductible is ‘nearly double’ “‘However you look at it, the son of a gun lied to us,’ said Janette Ramsey, a Bakersfield business owner with a weekend home in Ventura. She’s losing her current coverage and expects to pay $50 more a month for a policy with nearly double the deductible.” (“Many In Middle Class Say They’re Squeezed By Health Reform,” Ventura County Star [CA], 12/7/13)
rightturnsonly
The higher deductables are necessary so that people's premium money can go to pay for those with a pre-existing conditions, whose premiums don't reflect the absolute cost they bring to the pool instead of a risk. johndnorth
Demdopes are blaming the insurance co.'s. They seem to forget the insurance companies are operating under the law and regulations imposed by obamacare. All of this was predicted years ago. The Dems didn't even bother to listen to the GOP during the debates leading up to the vote on the bill. One dem at a town meeting when asked if he read the bill said he didn't have time to read it and then asked the citizen if he was to be expected to read a 2000 page bill. When the companies lose the exemption they are going to throw employees in to exchanges. The last estimate I read was 90-100 million people are going to lose health insurance. You have to pass the bill before you read it. hahahahah.

BeAChooser
Everybody knows they copied Romney-Care. No they didn't. RomneyCare was significantly different than Obamacare. First, Romneycare was a state program. Obamacare is a not. That's a very significant difference … one that often distinguishes conservatives from liberals. Another difference is that one was done on a bipartisan basis. The other was not. It was rammed down America's throat. And Obamaphiles are still ramming it down, despite the fact that most Americans clearly don't want it. There's not an iota of bipartisanship in Obamacare. It's Obama's Way or the highway. And If you're not for Obamacare then you're ... a racist ... an extremist ... a terrorist. That's what the Obama crowd has now openly said numerous times. But here's the biggest difference of all. The idea of Romneycare was to stop people from getting a free ride. The fundamental motive behind Obamacare is to give people a free ride. Romney said "you will be free to choose but your choices will have consequences." Buy insurance or pay for your healthcare. That was his motive. The 10% in Massachusetts with no health insurance would have to contribute if they wanted healthcare. No free ride. Insurance companies were not nationalized or attacked. Romneycare didn't cause a single Massachusetts resident to lose his or her insurance or doctor. Drug companies were not vilified, as they've been with Obamacare. Massachusetts did not become the default healthcare provider. Now contrast that with Obamacare. You are simply LYING or DELUSIONAL when you claim that Obamacare is a Romneycare copy. And yes, Obama said in in 2003 that his goal was Single Payer. That's another difference. He said "I see no reason why the United States of America, the wealthiest country in the history of the world, spending 14 percent of its gross national product on health care, cannot PROVIDE basic health insurance to everybody. And that's what Jim is talking about when he says everybody in, nobody out. A single-payer health care plan, a universal health care plan. That's what I'd like to see. But as all of you know, we many not get there IMMEDIATELY." That word immediately is important. And he's told the faithful that Obamacare is just a step on the road to that goal. Many of his close supporters said the same. Some have even admitted that Obamacare is already single payer because it will drive the insurance companies out of business. That was NEVER the objective of Romneycare. Thus, Obama's fundamental motive in implimenting Obamacare was different than Romney's was with Romneycare. And you know it so you're either a LIAR or a NUT. Is that you, db? The truth is that your bringing Romney into this discussion is only an attempted diversion from the real issue here. The failure of Obamacare. And you seem to presume that had there been no Romneycare there would be no Obamacare. NONSENSE. The Clintons made their stab at universal health care long before Romneycare. UHC was a long held dream of leftwing ideologues. Those same *Romney* aides who helped craft Romneycare would likely have worked for Obama in any case. Because UHC was their agenda. A free ride was their real agenda. Making America a socialist country. And thus destroying the very economic system that made America successful for 200+ years. oh sorry OBAMACARE, you see, racist, you are no longer in the majority, racist See what I mean folks? Obama supporters say that if you're not for Obamacare then you're ... a racist ... an extremist ... a terrorist. In short, they are now DESPERATE.
