Pizza Hut fires mgr for closing on Thanksgiving

Recommended Posts

It's a business. A subordinate disregarded an order from a superior. Nothing more. But, libs/progs will spin this into the business being cold and greedy and hating the working man, even though countless other businesses are opening for limited hours on Thanksgiving day. I know some pharmacies are open for a few hours. Are they greedy?

Get over yourselves. You want a job, you have to work what the schedule dictates.

The working man knows what this shlt is all about.

And GREED is number one.

Everybody is greedy including the working man.

Don't you conflict with your own party on this? Actually, I think cons should be chasing their own tails on this issue. Let's say we're talking about Christmas. Would you be spouting the business line or the religious freedom line? Don't you confuse yourself a little?

What party? I don't have a party. In any case, I would be spoutng the individual choice line. He company choose to be open on a certain day. The store manager chose to say no. The company chose to fire him.

From your link

I accept that the refusal to comply with this greedy, immoral request means the end of my tenure with this company," Rohr wrote, according to WSBT. " ... I hope you realize that it's the people at the bottom of the totem pole that make your life possible."

He sounds like a good man.

Probably no more confused than Liberals who don't question why government offices and the federal/state ACLU offices are all closed on Christmas Day. Why?

So buy local and eat at locally owned restaurants. Don't shop anywhere on Thanksgiving. There must be a demand and it's not all coming from the horrible Conservatives.

If the guy didn't want to work Thanks Giving, he's in the wrong line of work... I have well over 20 years working in the Restaurant / Bar business, most of those years in Mgt... When I was with Steak & Ale, it was our busiest day of the year, also the same when I was with Apple South Inc.

And as others on this Thread have posted, it wasn't the Mgr's call.

Who is going to be ordering a pizza on Thanksgiving day?

If I had to take a wild guess, it'd be your so called "working class".

Don't fly anywhere on Thanksgiving. Don't get gas. Don't call the telephone operator. Don't get hurt and have to go to the ER. ALL these people work on Thanksgiving and other holidays.

Don't you want your precious illegals to have somewhere to eat? They hate our country and our traditions just like you do.

I'm going to kill you one day. Bet on it.

As a working man I have to decide what type of company, pay, and schedule suits my needs and wants. I have to weigh that against what type of work is available. After that, when I make the choice, it is incumbent upon me to accept the rules, schedule and pay that is offered. If I can't accept the company rules then I must go elsewhere. It is called responsibility.

People start a business to make money. It is not a social program. If you wish to call it greed, so be it. But the world, whether a socialist, communist, or free market society is built on it.
