mandrew002008
Funny how Obama's signature legislation that was going to secure him in the history books forever "Obamacare" is now only being referred to as ACA.... This crap stinks so bad even Obama is trying to get away from it! President Barack Obama and loyal Democrats once embraced the term Obamacare to sell the American people on health care reform . With the president’s approval ratings at record lows, a broken website and Obama under fire for his pledge that people could keep their plans, the “Affordable Care Act” has returned. The president didn’t say “Obamacare” once during his nearly hourlong news conference last week, while he referred to the “Affordable Care Act” a dozen times. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi went so far as to correct David Gregory on “Meet the Press” Sunday on the proper terminology. And White House talking points distributed to Democrats and obtained by POLITICO repeatedly refer to the Affordable Care Act in suggested sound bites, not Obamacare Read more: http://www.politico.com/story/2013/11/barack-obama-obamacare-affordable-care-act-health-care-law-100034.html#ixzz2l7fa8mMd
Golfboy
It is funny that his embrace of "Obamacare" has disappeared. The campaign line of "I'm Obama and I care" is now nothing more than a late-night comedian punchline.

You die hard liber's have just swallowed up every drop of Obama and now its biting you in the ass. We'll be referring to it 20 years from now as the Affordable Care Act. They (meaning even you assholes) still refer to Reaganomics. Wasn't he the first president to have an attached-name thingie? Closest I can think of is Watergate which spawned many-gates after, but, that isn't a president's name. 'Bammycare' as a name will outlive his natural life, dreamer. A fucked legacy for a fucked (but vigorously and most comedically defended) presidency. You are on the wrong side of history here, dufus. Apparently you aren't watching the cable news shows right now. In California it is gaining momentum very quickly, in Minnesota the sign ups are now triple from the first of the month, In Washington they already surpassed the sign up numbers expected from October, Kentucky is out performing everybody, equally so in Connecticut, Vermont has gone single payer, Virginia will be opening it's state exchange first of the year now that nutjobs McDonnell, and Cuccinneli no longer have any say so in the matter, and when Charlie Crist stomps a mudhole in Scotts ass next year in the Florida governors election, they will be doing the same. The ACA is a great success, in spite of the sore losers still suffering from butt hurt after last years embarrassing ass kicking the tea party took in the elections, and by this time next year when the tea party takes yet another epic ass kicking in the midterms, triple the number of states will have signed up even more in their exchanges. Try some crushed ice on that sore butt boy.

theLion
The assumption here is that "Obamacare" is a tag Obama hung on the ACA to begin with. The plain history of the term is that the right wing, starting with Teabaggers, started using the term as a pejorative, and Obama effortlessly defanged that bit of grandstanding by adopting the term himself. It says so, right there in YOUR source. Here's another source on the subject. http://www.thewire.com/politics/2011/10/who-coined-obamacare/44183/ These are facts, Cons. Plans have to be PAID FOR by Dec 15, to go into effect on January 1. The open enrollment only means that you don't pay the penalty, if you aren't signed by my March 1. How many people who received cancellation notices, then were told by the President they could keep their plan, are going to show up at the hospital for an emergency and find out they have no coverage? How many of these people are going to go into foreclosure because of Obamacare? How many are going to die because their healthcare insurance was cancelled by you idiots? Obama lied, citizens died. During the Presidental campaign, Obama tried to own it, saying "I'm Obama and I care". You don't hear that anymore, do you? Do you know why? Because of poll numbers like this WaPo/ABC poll that came out today: 55% Disapprove of how Obama is doing his job. 52% Have an unfavorable view of Obama. 57% Oppose Obamacare. 65% Oppose the individual mandate. 71% Want to delay Obamacare. More deflection as usual from the fact that he proudly used the term himself multiple times as though, not just to "defang a pejorative", to promote the program. Even the coddling media took it as the proper nickname since the president himself repeatedly uses used it. Don't try that deflection shit ALL the time. That a tactic that's getting easier to 'defang' because I'm so fucking sick of it from you defenders of the ass.
