My Republican Bother and his wife.....Miss Pre Existing Conditions...can save $900 a MONTH once the website works. Ironically...he's a computer whiz...and if the system allowed...probably could fix some of the screw ups. The Procurement policy for Contractor-Temps is a MESS. That's the REAL FUBAR. They should have hired ACE IT guys as Federal employees...only used temps for the minor stuff.

Too late to change that. I know damn well...Uncle Sam can find people who KNOW how to make a website work.

Once the website works? I thought it was already fixed, what's the hold up now?

But your "Miss Pre Existing Conditions" is exactly the issue isn't it? It's only the sick that are signing up.

Did you know that Wilt Chamberlain had sex with more women than the total people signed up for Obamacare?

This goes well beyond the Website issues... For ObamaCare to work, they need 7 million healthy people in the 18-35 age group to purchase a policy.... Most of these people are still fairly new in their careers, and are paying rent, mortgages, car payments, electric , cable, phone etc... How did the architects of the ACA Law determined these people had the desire or disposable income to add another bill of several hundred dollars to their monthly budjet?

The large majority of these people will pass and pay the fine...If down the road they need expensive medical treatment they can sign up then, and not be denied with their pre-existing condition.

What's the current scorecard?

28,000 signed up

5,000,000.000 + with letters they're being dumped

Yep, to the leftist agenda neanderthals - that's a W.

28,000 have enrolled....This means it is in their online shopping cart.... Let's see how many of that 28,000 actually write a check or give their credit card information and actually pay for a Policy.

That's an interesting perspective you have there ---- considering you get your health care on the taxpayers dime!

I see from some of your past posts you were recently injured "on the job" ---- maybe you'd like to have to rely on crappy workers comp benefits & social security disability like the rest of Americans who are injured "on the job"?

Well being as I work for the tax payer, and the job I have comes with benefits, ya I do have health care. Are you saying that you think every one in the US should have equal everything regardless of work done? Ya know what they call that? Lol, keep in mind I lose the freedom to not go to work, chose where I want to live, and chose weather or not I want to support a war.

Also I don't know what you think military benefits entail but trust me they seem a lot better from the outside. Haha. Not to mention if I would have lost flexibility on one foot an lost 70% of the other foot at a private company, oooooweeeee I would probably have 1/2 a mil or more not 75k and a small monthly disability check while I am in medschool.

You're a jackazz. Most were saying a lot worse about Med part d on it's roll out. Reserve your judgement for after the first of the year. Most of you all will be eating some serious crow.

Your party wins on lies. Period!

What the hell is that supposed to mean? Your party lied us into war, azzhole. Has anyone died over the Obamacare lie?

It was never a good policy, but an ok policy that does more good than harm. The ACA is a very Conservative plan that builds off of markets and personal responsibilty, which is fine an all, but liberals would much rather have a PO or a single payer.

Reform was needed. Going back to the status quo and attacking Medicare/Medicaid is not an option, despite how much Cons want it to be.

I thought you'd use these few days away from this forum to re-acquaint yourself with reality... I presumed wrong... You still refuse to bail from the mandated ObamaCare Law..... You can afford that luxury Bing... You're not a Democrat up for re-election next year---- But it's easy to see which ones are... They are trying to distance themselves from a 2,500 page bill they Voted for, and didn't even read.

The latest News regarding the ACA Law is the Pass / Delay being given to the 12 million member AFL-CIO Union, as well as their brethren in Hoffa Jnr's Teamsters.....

If the ACA Law doesn't apply to all----it should apply to none.

Yes, as a matter of fact I do think everyone in the USA deserves equal health care. The soldier who is injured while voluntering for service to her/his country is no more deserving than the child with a chronic illness (who didn't volunteer for it, btw) - the soldier is no less deserving either.

You chose the military life and you chose to go to war. Do you think people in the private sector never get involuntarily transferred by their employers? Or never have to work on a project they don't necessarily agree with? Do you think everyone in the private sector really has the "freedom to not go to work?"

Also I don't know what you think military benefits entail but trust me they seem a lot better from the outside.

I grew up in a military family & my husband was a Captain in the reserves. I know both sides.

Don't have much real world experience with what it's like in the private sector, do you? I promise you it's not like you think. 75k, a lifetime disability check, free healthcare, and free college with an additional annual stipend of what 10k? 12K? I'd say you're not doing so bad - esp since you were an enlisted man for, what? 4 or 8 years. Did you have more than a high school education when you went in? I'm not denigrating your service .... I'm just saying you are a little out of touch because of it.

Yawn......The USA system of employer provided insurance largely arose through unintended consequences during WWII. Wages were frozen in order to combat inflation. Therefore, employers started to offer health insurance benefits to attract workers instead of raises. Then Washington entrenched this stupid system by offering tax breaks to insurance contributions.

American liberals want to free up employers from burdensome costs and responsibility with a single payer system. Not only would a single payer reduce the cost of doing business, but it would increase labor market efficiencies and spur innovation. Instead of workers staying at jobs they don't really like simply for the benefits, it would allow greater mobility and efficiency, increasing economic growth. It would also spur innovation and risk taking since people would be covered and didn't have to search or accept a job simply because of benefits. The savings from UHC would turn our deficits in surpluses and save Americans billions each year, along with the government.

American conservatives, on the other hand, want to preserve this inefficient and costly system. The last thing they would want to do is see the American worker benefit. Plus, by reducing costs and debt burdens, this would take away their ammo to attack other forms of social spending.

In reality, liberals support a system that would increase market efficiencies and be good for both the worker and the firm, along with being fiscally responsible. Conservatives rather promote market inefficiencies and fiscal irresponsibility.

Come back when you have something to offer.

Some parts of the ACA are actually good. I've said this repeatedly and no one has come up with a decent rebuttal. Fixed the doughnut hole for seniors, Provided coverage for pre-existing conditions, addressed medicare fraud, addressed price gouging, and requiring medical offices to go digital.

All this hand wringing is for show since the ACA will not be repealed by Republicans even if they get a super-majority.

Of course someone who can not support them selves deserves FREE health care. However an employer has the right to make as much money as they can and pay employees an appropriate wage for the skill level of work they do, I dont believe that the owner of a 3 gas stations should have to pay a cashier 30k a year take home pay and 25k year in benefits. That is recipe for bankruptcy and quite frankly wont happen. The problem with health care isnt the insurance companies (all though they dont help) it is the inflated prices. One of my additional duties as a medic a few years ago was ordering supplies, I can tell you a when your kid cuts him/herself and lidocane is used to numb the wound so it can be sutured the hospital will pay 4.75$ for that bottle of lidocane, $0.54 for the needle's and syringe, and charge you 150-350$ for it. That is crazy mark up! And that money there goes to the hospital not the Dr. Obama Care tried to fix the radiator when the engine block has a crack,

YES I DO! HAHAHA! It may not be a feasible option and it may be difficult but THEY CAN DO IT! THEY CAN BE THERE FOR THE BIRTH OF THEIR CHILD THEY CAN LIVE CLOSE TO FAMILY AND THEY CAN JUST NOT GO IN THAT DAY! If an active duty service member does not go in, says their not moving, says their not going to war, says they are going home to see their baby born they CAN DO IT! If an active duty service member says no THEY GO TO JAIL!

Maybe you dont realize this but when you thank a guy in uniform at the airport, you're not thanking him for his heroics, you're thanking him for volunteering so you can live close to your family, see your kid born, cut your hair they way you want to, and oh yeah so you dont have to get shot at! I dont think you're dumb enough to believe the military would cease to exist if people stopped volunteering, in peace time or at war the US would just draft. Both Libs and Cons use the piss out of the military and none of them would just say "ahh well'.

I grew up in a military family & my husband was a Captain in the reserves. I know both sides.

First of all Reserves and their families, regardless of how much media attention they get, have a very small grasp on what "balls deep" military is all about.

Hahaha...My uncle lost his leg and broke his back in an accident at his engineering firms construction site. It was due to unsafe work practices, he got 3.8 mil when it was all said and done. A buddy of mine from high school was training to drive with Swift transportation and while he was sleeping his co-driver flipped the truck. He got a bad concussion and a broken femur, between Aflac, and the trucking company he got about 450k. I think you may be out of touch!

Also I dont get the disability check for life, I get is along as I am in school. Sure if I sat on my ass and wanted to live off how ever much it will be the rest of my life I would get it for life however I am a weird guy it seems these days. I actually want to earn big bucks and I have put in the time to get those jobs! As far as time in service, I have been in 8 years and have deployed 3 times for a total of 32 months. I am also a medic, no not the hospital BP taker type medic, I am a 68W 03 W01. Which means I am SSG, and I did SOCM course, look it up. I also finished my BS in biology while in and have been accepted to Baylor. I joined right out of high school and spent 18 months in training all together between, basic, medic school, air borne school, air assault school (because my class didn't start for a few months) and finally SOCM course. Basically if I got out of the military right after training I wouldn't get out of bed for less then 20$ an hour, add in countless other specialized certifications in patient care and instructing for NREMT, BLS, CPR, ect. and my inbox and actual mailbox is full of recruitment emails from Oil companies, mercenary companies, fire departments, ambulance companies and even a guy called me from boarder patrol once. If you believe your military is full of bottom of the barrel cant do any thing else high school grads you are grossly mistaken....LOL the new way they set up promotions in 2012 made it almost impossible for anyone to be promoted above E-5 without at least an associates. I do say my dear it is you that is out of touch with reality.
