eclectic skeptic
Terry McAuliffe, a businessman and former head of the Democratic National Committee, captured the Virginia governor’s seat Tuesday, defeating Republican Ken Cuccinelli II, the state attorney general whose conservative crusades made him an icon of the tea party movement. lol. Democrats were also victorious in the lieutenant governor’s race, as state Sen. Ralph Northam defeated Republican E.W. Jackson, the Chesapeake minister whose history of inflammatory remarks about gays and abortion became a flash-point of the campaign.

Yeah - because Christie changed the senate seat election day so he wouldn't be compared to Booker. LOLOL. Cons - lying and cheating are all they ever do. Affects your life too, since NJ is also your state. Leave it to you to never say a goddamn thing about anything. Christie saved the state 's pension system which I guess he will be cursed again by you righties for actually helping people. But this thread is about McAuliffe who got an F from the NRA and threw in tons of money against him. This state smells very blue to me , suckers. RichClem
And what did it take for the Dem to eke out a close win? A libertarian 3rd party candidate. And a typical cave by the Republican Establishment, aided and abetted by that fake WashPost poll. Cuccinelli Campaign Says National GOP Abandoned Them: 'We Were on Our Own'A campaign strategist for Republican Virginia gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli said that the national GOP abandoned the campaign in its final days.At the end of the race, Cuccinelli was closing in on Democrat Terry McAuliffe, who eked out a two-point victory on Tuesday despite exit polls that showed McAuliffe was up by seven points.According to the Washington Post, Chris La Civita said that financial support from national Republican sources dried up on October 1. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/11/05/Cuccinelli-Campaign-Says-National-GOP-Abandoned-Them-We-Were-on-Our-Own See you next year, moonbats. theLion
The Tea Baggers lose another one . It's a beautiful thing! Maybe the Republicans will finally get the message - they cannot sell the Tea Party *message*, people will not vote for it, and it will be very difficult for Republicans to win anywhere with Tea Party candidates. More subtle, maybe the Teabaggers learned something as well - they cannot sell themselves and have ZERO chance of winning elections at all, without Republican support. Axiom: The Tea Party needs the GOP a hell of a lot more than the converse.

Even YOU are smart enough to understand the vote was split, aren't you? Perhaps not.

Ahh I see so all those Virginians who voted for Terry McAuliffe didn't actually vote for Terry McAuliffe huh... The Republican war on women didn't piss off the young single women huh... The Republican White Male Society is so entrenched in the belief that it has the right message and everyone else is wrong... The mistake that was made was splitting their vote. I know math is hard for you idiotic liberals, but do please try to keep up.

Axiom: The Tea Party needs the GOP a hell of a lot more than the converse. More liberal idiocy. We need to take over the Republican Machine. And of course, the endless WashPost attacks on O Donnell and whitewashing of MCauliffe's endless corruption, plus the fake poll they published played a huge role. The Betrayal of Ken Cuccinelli By Maggie Gallagher They said he was “unelectable.” The RNC put only $3 million into this race. Ken was outspent by a margin of something between 4:1 and 10:1, if you believe the Associated Press. The Democrats poured everything into trying to lie to voters and portray Cuccinelli as an extremist — and they barely pulled this one out. Would another $3 million have swung 50,000 votes? The Republicans, starting with Bill Bolling, who undercut Cuccinelli as unelectable have egg all over their faces. This was a winnable election. How did we give this away to Terry McAuliffe? Some serious soul-searching should be taking place among the anti-tea-party faction. http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/363206/betrayal-ken-cuccinelli-maggie-gallagher

Cuccinelli was WAY outspent on this election, and only lost because another TEA Party candidate split the vote. Unions threw in billions and the republicans establishment abandoned Cuccinelli, which shows you how much a threat the TEA Party is to the establishment Republicans. They'd rather abandon Virginia to the Democrats, than have another TEA Party Governor. But welcome back to the forum after running away the other day. Is your ass not as sore, after getting humiliated on your claims that Republicans were responsible for the Democrats cuts in food stamps?
