New Jobs Surge, Jobless Claims Fall, Beating Expectations

Recommended Posts

Private companies hired 188,000 new workers in June, considerably better than expectations, indicating the job market continues to heal slowly, according to a report from ADP.

The number combined with a steadying of weekly jobless claims at 343,000, which was below estimates of 350,000 and consistent with recent weeks.

Services again stoked the private-hiring number, with 161,000 new jobs compared to the goods-producing sector's creation of 27,000 positions, the survey from ADP and Moody's Analytics showed.

This is great news! More minimum wage hamburger flipper and maid jobs!

No wonder the left is clamoring for an increase in minimum wage, it's the only jobs they know how to create.

"This would suggest that nothing has changed," Mark Zandi, Moody's economist, told CNBC. "The job market is still remarkably stable."

No kidding. We normally call this stagnation.

Sadly, after 5 years and $7 Trillion in new debt, you'd think we'd get SOMETHING for our money.

Quite the cheerleader today aren't you? The US is a tremendously resilient country. It's harder but even we can overcome bad policy and over regulation. Kudos to the workers and the risk takers that make it happen despite government getting in the way and taking their unearned cut!

That's barely enough to keep up with population growth, moonbat, hardly a "surge."

And given that expectations are low, so what they were beaten?

More jobs were created in one good month under Reagan than the average "good" year under Obama.

Resilient yes.

Republicans have caused huge crashes in the economy - and Democrats have recovered from them.

Reagan?

Yes, of course, thankfully he had 8 years of a Democrat Congress!

Just interviewed for a new job a couple hours ago, and should be starting in a week or two. Can't wait to tell the good news to my current boss.

So obstructionism isn't an excuse, and the poor recovery is Obama's fault?

mostly seasonal minimum wage jobs. in an average economy that number should be over half million. since unemployed adults are having to take jobs traditionally filled by students the student unemployment rate will climb but there are no real stats for that (just estimates).

And students will start businesses to address it, and we'll all be the better for it.

Unlike you not everyone needs the government to hand them their livelihood.

Skilled workers in all demographics have jobs.

The unemployment problem started with Bush outsourcing 8 million unskilled jobs.

And continues with Republicans blocking any and all attempts to find jobs for these unskilled workers.

It's good for their numbers you see.

I'm still not clear about what Bush did to outsource 8 million jobs, because that's a shitload.

What industries were affected, and what policies do you believe played the role of the straw the broke the camels back? Can reversing these policies and/or new policies bring them back?

I give you credit for at least being a positive, enthusiatic shill as opposed to a negative one.

Fight the good fight amigo. Propaganda is a useful tool for useless idiots. Message reinforcemnt.

It works until it doesn't. This may be a month old but the fundamentals still apply.

Along with the millions of high paying, skilled jobs Obama's recovery has created

.... he has gone a long way to fill the 8 million unskilled, low wage jobs Bush killed.

:)

Even Fox News will tell what Bush did to cause 8 million low wage, unskilled jobs to be outsourced.

Rush may not.....

But you should ask them

More seasonal 25-30 hr. per week part time jobs. Obamacare at work for you. As Pelosi said you are free from the insurance Co's. Free to work part time if you can find a job.

The 8 million jobs Bush lost that Obama is filling were both seasonal and full time.

Bush and his GOP did not discriminate

Don't get your hopes up just yet this transparent guberment might be distorting facts.

Bush and the GOP never distorted the facts of their worst recession on record?

... or the 8 million unskilled jobs they sent overseas?

Naaahhhh.....
