crimsongulf
Kimberly McCarthy, who was put to death for the murder of her 71-year-old neighbor, was also the first woman executed in the U.S. in nearly three years. McCarthy, 52, was executed for the 1997 robbery, beating and fatal stabbing of retired college psychology professor Dorothy Booth. Booth had agreed to give McCarthy a cup of sugar before she was attacked with a butcher knife and candelabra at her home in Lancaster, about 15 miles south of Dallas. Authorities say McCarthy cut off Booth's finger to remove her wedding ring. It was among three slayings linked to McCarthy, a former nursing home therapist who became addicted to crack cocaine. She was pronounced dead at 6:37 p.m. CDT, 20 minutes after Texas prison officials began administering a single lethal dose of pentobarbital. As the drug started to take effect, she said, "God is great," before closing her eyes. She took hard, raspy, loud breaths for several seconds before becoming quiet. Her chest moved up and down for another minute before she stopped breathing. http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/texas-woman-set-500th-execution-state-19497278#.UcuAvTvUlLc Only 16 years for justice to be served. LisaB
Yeah, let's have execution chambers right next to courtrooms. Pronounce somebody guilty, 20 mins. later they're dead. It'll mean killing a significant number of wrongly-convicted people, but who cares about that. Just as long as it isn't us or anyone we know, huh? Agreed.... we had to wait 14 years here in Florida before Ted Bundy finally saddled-up for the Jolting Rodeo on our beloved Ole Sparky. We do need to put a Super-Charger on the Court system to get these scum bags across the finish line alot quicker

Actually Texas is looking at a fast lane approach. If three eyewitnesses see you do it, you go to the head of the line. Bada Bing.

They seem to lead the nation in serial killers! The death penalty doesn't seem to act as any deterrent, like cons try to tell us. But, yeah, we need fast track, one appeal within one year, then GAS EM, FRY EM, HANG EM, SHOOT EM! Way too many of these psychopaths get out on tecnicalities to kill again! YEAH! Cheers for justice and for the familes of victims! You truly write some really ridiculous things sometimes. yeah cause all those animals that raped little girls, dismembered and slashed your mothers throat deserve humility and compassion. Yet libers have no problem murdering an innocent child through abortions, cause that's there right to kill their own offspring.....Liberals are some f up people. Where a group of black thugs carjacked a couple that were out on a date. They tortured and burned their bodies and placed her in a barrel next to the railroad tracks and you want to tell me we should have compassion for these MF's Lisa? READ THIS LISA B and tell me why we should have compassion for these animals:http://www.wate.com/category/172992/christian-newsom-murder-trials
