Will this nightmare never end for California. It looks like Perry's job raid on California worked, or perhaps it was Jerry Brown foolishly responding to Perry publicly. California's unemployment rate just moved a little higher.

If only the country had an administration that was business friendly, a lot of problems would immediately go away. However, we have an anti business administration and they just can't see to figure out why the economy won't move.

So a defense contractor that receives an enormous amount of tax payer welfare is moving to a red state that receives an enormous amount of tax payer welfare? Say it ain't so.

There is extra money to be made in TX, lower wages, safety, health, insurance standards,

Bottom line the corporation will make more $$$$$$$$$$$$$,

the workers will get screwed more.

As might be expected of Chicken Little Cons, the reality is actually much less than their claims would like it to be.

>Carpenter said about 170 local employees would be affected by the reorganization and the Dallas Morning News said Texas would gain about 200 jobs from the move.<

- that's out of 7000 Raytheon employees in the El Segundo, CA area.

So it's NOT their "air and space company' they're moving from CA toTX, it's 3% of the work force in one city in California.

Raytheon has steadily grown their presence in Texas. This is the headquarters though. The executives are being moved. This will only serve to accelerate the company's complete move to Texas.

California's unemployment rate just went up a little bit more.

Sure. Fifty bucks to a charity of the other's choice, that Raytheon does not move "the rest" of its El Segundo operation to Texas within the year.

By the way, you might want to look up how much of Boeing's operation, just to use one example, moved from Seattle to Chicago after they moved their corporate HQ.

Might wanna look at the move to the Carolinas. Or Airbus getting all up in their market share with a new plant under construction here.
