How Influential Is Rush Limbaugh?

Recommended Posts

Since his ascendancy twenty years ago, conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh continously frustrated his liberal critics. Beginning in the 1990s Clinton era, Limbaugh unleashed a never-before-seen army of "Ditto heads," conservative listeners of his show who, no doubt, took their political and voting cues from the former radio dj.

More recently, Rush Limbaugh has transformed himself into an old-fashioned kingmaker, nothing less. Since the 2012 presidential election, probably earlier, every serious Republican contender vying for national office understands Limbaugh's newly found ability to make or break a candidate.

His king making skills leave a lot to be desired lately. He's not the fat, blowhard, oxy addict he used to be and Republicans who are actually looking to win seats in 2014 are trying their best to circumvent his toxic influence on the wrong "kind" of voters.

But hey, the guy's gotta eat and he sure puts a smile on the face of KKK'ers, skinheads, TP'ers, birthers and a wide variety of conspiracy addicts.

How influential is he? Not as influential as he was 3-5 years ago and more influential than he'll be in the next 3-5 years, I predict.

Limbaugh's newly found ability to make or break a candidate.

Newly found? Where have you been Mister Beeg?

Obviously you don't follow politics very closely. Here's the difference between now and then: Five years ago, established and promising politicans called Limbaugh at his request. Nowadays, the same politicians make unsolicited calls to Mr. Rush. That's newly acquired power. The kind of power not-yet fully recognized. Except by me, of course.

Roughly every 1 out of 20 posts here on LIBERALforum has something either directly or indirectly to do with Rush Limbaugh. Oh that AIR AMERICA had been that successful!

Even media libs never understood that Air America was a redundant operation. The leftist propaganda it peddled already existed in the likes of CNN, MSNBC, ABC News, the New York Times, etc.

George Noory?! Isn't that the late night talk show for unemployed kooks? And who's ever heard of the other creeps? Ma'am, we're talking audience numbers here.

For those unfamiliar with the scale: Michael Moore has a 1.2, and Barack Obama is at 7.9.

The scale of what? Using hard drugs? Laziness? Corruption? Throwing a baseball like a girl?

Actually, we miss the days when liberal women made one iota of sense. Today, they're all blithering idiots. Aside from the obvious, what good are you?

Even Alex Jones gets on George Noory and Drudge cuz he knows about the numbers with those 2 sites.

Coast to Coast is international dude. They get between 70-100 million listeners a night. That's more than con-tard and lib-tard radio combined.

Yep Coast to Coast is mostly broadcast on the same conservative stations that carry Rush in the daytime.

Rush is the official spokesperson for the RNC.

And Mercke pharmaceuticals.

And you forgot to mention the most whined-about radio commentator on the air today! Even on small boutique political sites like LIBERALforum!

Those numbers sound inflated. Anyway, who's listening when the show is broadcast live? Troubled insomniacs? Unemployed neurotics? Frightened shut-ins? Psychos with a grudge?

Get Noory on--live--in the middle of the day and then we'll talk numbers.
