Recommended Posts

WARNING TO CONS!!!! This post contains FACTS!! Reading it may destroy your blissful ignorance!!!!!

Americans spend 3 times the world average on health care!

GPpay.jpg

American MDs are the highest paid in the world and this is not counting the kickbacks from big pharma!

America has the highest rate of surgical site infections in the industrialized world.

medical-school-cost1.png

Corporate scum run medical schools are a huge driver of costs.

Nearly all US hospitals are corporate.

An MRI in the US cost more than any other country. In Japan it is $98, France, $280 and the US $1080. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/post/why-an-mri-costs-1080-in-america-and-280-in-france/2011/08/25/gIQAVHztoR_blog.html

We pay more because the service has been separated from the true cost. Go back to fee for service and those costs come way down.

But then people like Zero would have to pay for their own insurance and healthcare.

No way he'd ever agree to anything like that.

A friend of mine went to Austria for back surgery because it was so expensive in the U.S. Since he was an American citizen, he paid the full cost of the surgery. The total cost of the surgery + two weeks in a rehab center was $6000.

The problem is 4-fold.

1) Greed on the medical establishment's part, and BIG PHARMA.

2) Ameri-care is based on disease exploitation not homeostasis education and practice.

3) The high portion of adult Americans that won't take any resposibility for their health until they get to the hospital. Then it is like "Oh please Doctor save me !!!!" :o

- Case and point how many cardiologists are making a fortune every year cuz simply cuz after a heart attack most victims don't add Co-Q10 to their diet. $22-29 worth of Co-Q10 versus $10,000 in cardio-care.

4) Plus you got people killing themselves slowly with aspartame, cigarettes, sucralose, sodium-fluoride, and other GMOs.

The solution is easy... have a Darwin-Clause for treatment.... If you have liver damage and you had a life diet of sucralose, then no liver transplant for you. If you smoke no lung-transplant for you, or even oxygen therapy.

It would bring costs down and save millions but people won't go for it.

Some of that is relevant....Living healthy lifestyles is the number one way to reduce chronic disease.......

Your pharma crap is not based on reality. Go research how much it costs to get a drug approved through the FDA and get back to me.

And we STILL have a shortage of general practitioners!!!!! Big Zero thinks cutting their pay will increase supply!!!!

America has the highest rate of surgical site infections in the industrialized world.

We do quite a bit of surgery..... Did you have side by side comparisons or were you simply comparing us to any country with 3 million people in it?

Corporate scum run medical schools are a huge driver of costs.

That's a semi-coherent argument....

Nearly all US hospitals are corporate.

MOST hospitals(62% excluding federally owned hospitals) are non-profit. For profit hospitals are 18% while the rest are government owned.

Ask them how long they have to wait for an MRI dumbass. I can get one scheduled this week..... Can they do THAT???

It's the same old nonsense with you, regardless the facts.

Do you think people actually believe your lies anymore?

This is one more pathetic example of a POS CON's maniacal hatred of facts. You have the brain of a Muslims Goofboy and as the members of civilized society all know Islam needs to be exterminated.

How many drugs out there teat cholesterol when fish oil and primrose oils do the job ?

How about oxy-silver for those with chronic infections rather than overpriced antibiotics ?

How about arginine and lysine for bone regrowth rather than just pain management ?

I've read about this stuff for years. We have a sickly irresponsible adult druggie culture here in America.

It's all done on purpose so BIG-PHARMA can usher in their Pharmacratic dictatorship on behalf of the Globalists.

I certainly don't have an issue with alternative methods of treatment assuming there's scientific research to back up their efficiency. There's also a lot of fraudulent "cures" out there.

The most ridiculous were the pills that supposedly balanced your bodies pH.:lol:

Well..... it's done by the consumer who DEMANDS a cure in a pill.

Good to hear. Nothing wrong with exploring alternative medicine and practicing healthy lifestyles which also happens to be the number one way to stay healthy contrary to popular belief.....

All I am saying is that the healthcare system isn't perfect but Americans can't continue to live irresponsibly and think that healthcare is going to save them each and every time.

That and yo have to watch out for practictioners who exploit disease rather than find cures.

The OP is right. There was a great cover story in Time Magazine a couple of months ago about the cost of health care. It showed that there is no correlation between what the hospitals/ medical equipment companies/ big pharma charge for their products and services, and the actual cost to them of that product or service. $ 5 band aids and $ 300 X-rays are common. Anyone who's been to an ER or had a hospital stay and has gotten a bill knows what I say is true.

One big misconception is that drug companies spend a lot for R & D. Most all of their R & D is done on their existing drugs, to tweak the formula a little so they can get another 20 years of exclusivity. They're all about profit.

Almost all hospitals are privately owned, even the ones that are "non-profit". The Time article showed that at non-profit hospitals, the CEO's and senior management are paid $ millions. The only thing non-profit about it is that they don't pay taxes.

I think we can all agree that a healthy life style and early diagnosis and preventative medicine is a much better way to live, and will result in huge savings. That's one of the benefits of Obamacare. It mandates free preventative screening. Other things we can do are to take much of the mundane, common medical practice out of the hands of doctors. Things like vaccines, diabetes treatment, blood work, stitches, treatment of wounds, etc. can be easily handles by P A's and nurses. That would free up the doctors for the more serious work and cut down on the doctor shortage.

The other good thing about Obamacare is that it mandates that everyone either have insurance or pay a penalty. No more free loaders showing up at the ER and giving the bill to the tax payers. There's so much that we could do better in our heath care system, if we can just convince the Cons that for profit medicine is an abomination before God and man.

Americans want cures in bottles while they continue their unhealthy lifestyles.

Our community hospital got bought out by an insurance company. Prices are now the highest of 4 hospitals in the area, and our paper is filled with doctors starting new practices. They are hospital doctors who've quit in disgust, and the hospital is replacing them with low-paid, low-experience doctors and surgeons.

Guess where I'm not going?

You can thank billy the clinton for this. He is the one that pushed for the program that pays, with taxpayer's money, teaching hospitals and medical schools to NOT teach students. In other words, he billy the clinton, bought the AMA by reducing the number of doctors thereby raising their pay. Again, he did that with our money.

To finish the sentence....

The Real Problem With Health Care In the US

is government interference in the free market.

Very intelligent response. About what I expect from you.

There's so many falsehoods and idiotic ideals contained I wouldn't bother addressing them all.

Let's just take one..... ALL non-profits have to pay comparable wages or they wouldn't have anyone working for them DIPSHIT.....:lol:

It can cost 2 BILLION dollars just to get a new drug to MARKET with all the FDA regulation in place...... is another.... Your whole post is shit dude......

I work for a non-profit hospital! Guess what I get paid!?!?!??! Roughly the same as EVERY OTHER nurse in the area.....:lol:

The Real Problem With Health Care In the US

is government interference in the free market.

There is no such thing as a free market in health care. Any free market depends upon an informed and free consumer to make a decision about the product. Very, very few people are informed about medicine. And the consumer is not in a position to shop around for health care when he/ she needs it. The consumer is at the mercy of the doctor, hospital, insurance company, drug company, etc. There is also little competition among providers. And, as I stated in my previous post, the price has nothing to do with the cost or with competition.

You obviously didn't read my post. I never said non-profit hospitals pay lower wages. Of course they have to pay market wages.

And the "new drugs" from the big drug companies are mostly tweaks to existing drugs they control. The vast majority of true R & D; the quest for new treatments and cures, is done by the govt., specifically, NIH and CDC.

It doesn't matter RETARD...... The drug still needs roughly 2 billion to make it through FDA testing BEFORE it can be sold REAGARDLESS of WHO comes up with the initial formula.

And NO, the NIH and CDC are not driving R&D.....:lol:

the best medical care comes at a price both financially as well as socio economic privledge. people from all over the world come here for health care not the other way around. the only exception is some people going to foreign countries for treatments not approved in the US. Big govt in charge of the medical industry thats what you get road blocks.

The one thing I haven't read in these arguements is personal responsibility. If a person looks on the Internet or does just the slightest bit of research, they will find natural supplements that do the same thing as synthetic drugs. Hospitals, pharmacy companies and the insurance companines only make that much because people are generally lazy and unhealthy. Change the culture, don't blame he service Providers.
