eclectic skeptic
Arizona Medicaid Expansion Advances After Jan Brewer Forces Lawmakers' Hands Arizona will expand Medicaid to cover nearly 300,000 poor residents next year after a bipartisan coalition passed a measure backed by Gov. Jan Brewer ® through the state legislature on Thursday. Brewer, a conservative and avowed foe of President Barack Obama's health care reform law, announced her support for the Medicaid expansion in January, but faced stiff resistance from fellow Republicans in Arizona's House and Senate. During a marathon session that began Wednesday afternoon and stretched into the wee hours of Thursday morning before culminating in a final vote late Thursday afternoon, a handful of Republicans joined Democrats in the House and Senate to pass the Medicaid expansion. Although Obama's health care law continues to divide elected officials and the public along starkly partisan lines, Brewer is one of nine Republican governors who have bucked their party and embraced the Medicaid expansion. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/06/13/arizona-medicaid-expansion_n_3430371.html

cli1rus
Yaaaaay, the country's going bankrupt even faster! Amen, Amen and AAAmen. In Socialism you give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, but with Christianity, you teach a man to fish and he feeds himself forever. In Socialism you give a woman a fish and she will bring back another illegitimate child to be fed, but with Christianity, you teach a woman how to fish and she will find a husband that will feed her and the child. Capitalism is cruel in the short term, but provides for long term survival of the society. Socialism is short term relief, but a long term disaster because it creates a never ending dependency. That would have been the most basic of victories. The tiny victories after that are merely selling this shitty law to the folks and squeezing money that is was NOT supposed to cost. You and your idiot brethren can go get fucked. I hope you die miserably in poverty with semi-life threatening diseases (that means slowly). You progs are too stupid to have a valid purpose. Leave the liberals alone. Ahhh, I feel better. Don't care how you feel.
Right Wing Liberal
but but but Jan Brewer is one of the wingnut's darlings. what the hell happened cons? LMAO. I already knew that Brewer was a two-faced hypocrite. How come you didn't? expanding medicaid to save people from obamacare is not a victory for obamacare its a victory to the poor people that cant afford obamacare. Dumbass, expanding Medicaid is the foundation of Obamacare. That's why Obamacare is paying for 95% of the price of the expansion (100% for the first 5 years). Brewer is one of nine Republican governors who have bucked their party and embraced the Medicaid expansion. republicans wall of denial is beginning to crumble. You should never say "wall" when talking about Arizona... Yeah, that is great news clem. When we bottom out your military, your corporations, and your foreign aid will be all gone. Common sense will come to DC and emphasis on WE THE PEOPLE will resume. There is no such thing as common sense - but the fact of the matter is that most Americans are at least as conflicted on budget issues as their member of Congress. A "big victory" for Obamacare would have been that it was WANTED in the first place by the people, I vote for leaders, not followers. If politicians' jobs were to simply read polls and have no values, then we could just turn the government over to CNN-ORC corporation and we'd get everything we wanted. The job of the government is to make decisions. The job of the people is to evaluate those decisions, not to make the decisions themselves. Go figure. Dumbass, expanding Medicaid is the foundation of Obamacare. That's why Obamacare is paying for 95% of the price of the expansion (100% for the first 5 years). What then???? That is why a majority of states want nothing to do with it. Partially paid for now by the Federal govt. but then later the financial burden is placed solely on the states with mandates from the Federal Government. RichClem
Yaaaaay, the country's going bankrupt even faster! Your lies have never worked...and now less than ever. Reality is a "lie" to this shameless troll. Secret Budget Doc: 30-yr Deficit is $106,954,000,000,000 .....according to GOP (30 year) deficit projections subsequently prepared by Johnson and obtained by National Review Online, the true size of the problem is staggering, and surprised even many of the seasoned budget negotiators involved. $4 trillion? Try $106 trillion, the medium estimate. That’s $106,954,000,000,000. Even the lowest, extremely conservative estimate comes in at $72 trillion; the highest is over $120 trillion. http://www.nationalreview.com/article/350983/ron-johnsons-transformative-proposal-jonathan-strong
