Things Go Horribly Wrong For Fox When They Ask For Benghazi Evidence

Recommended Posts

Fox News tried to push their Benghazi conspiracy theory today, but things went horribly wrong when they asked Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz for evidence and he couldn’t provide any.

Video:

Transcript:

WALLACE: Congressman Chaffetz, has the Obama admininstration blocked potential witnesses from testifying or not?

CHAFFETZ: Absolutely, and more than one. We’ve asked for the non-classified version of how did these people get an attorney who has a degree of classified information, and they still haven’t given us that. No, there are people out there that wanna testify that have been suppressed.

WALLACE: But you heard the State Department person just say that nobody either a lawyer or a witness has requested to testify.

CHAFFETZ: Because they’re scared to death of what the State Department is doing to them. That’s what. Look we’re the other branch of government. They’re supposed to be able to come to congress, and be able to share this type of information. That has not happened, because the administration has suppressed. We have a person who was injured eight months ago who’s still in the hospital. They changed his name on the medical records. This is a story of the State Department doing things that haven’t been done in any other case.

WALLACE: Are you saying? Again, I want to bring in Congressman Lynch. Tell me-a direct threat, a direct act of intimidation against a potential witness?

CHAFFETZ: Yes, and I think we’ll probably…

WALLACE: Tell me one… tell what’s been said.

CHAFFETZ: There are people, more than one, that have felt intimidation from the State Department.

Notice that Chris Wallace provided Chaffetz with the perfect setup. He let him weave the conspiracy theory. Wallace never stopped him, or challenged him. But when it came time for Rep. Chaffetz to deliver the money shot, he threw up all over his own shirt.

Ever since it was revealed that Boston bombings weren’t carried out by an overseas terrorist group, Fox News has gone back to relentlessly pushing Benghazi conspiracies. It has been subtle, but you can see it in Chaffetz’s remarks, the focus of the Benghazi conspiracy has shifted away from Obama and to the State Department.

Their conspiracy theory focus has shifted because the runaway favorite for the 2016 Democratic nomination just so happens to be the same woman who used to be Secretary of State. Fox News is only the propaganda arm. Chris Wallace did his job, but the Republican/Fox News plan to bring down Hillary Clinton with Benghazi fell flat on its face when Rep. Chaffetz has zero evidence to back up his charges.

Fox News could have gotten a week’s worth of programming out of anything that Chaffetz said, but he gave them nothing specific that they could use.

The big “news” bit of the segment quickly turned into a trainwreck, as Rep. Chaffetz’s conspiracy not could hold up even under the gentlest of scrutiny by Chris Wallace. What was supposed to be a big moment turned into a huge Fox fail that ended up proving the emptiness of their own Benghazi conspiracy.

I understand it had something to do with a video. I mean, it had to, since no one in this administration would lie, right?

Didn't you hear the schpeel from Hillary's boot licker?

Hold on, I found it: White House hoping public will ignore Benghazi...

Congressional Democrats on Sunday distanced themselves from the Obama administration’s explanation of the Benghazi, Libya, attacks in the immediate aftermath of the fatal strikes, amid mounting evidence that suggests the information was revised to intentionally mislead Americans.

The original explanation of the Sept. 11, 2012, attacks on the U.S. outpost in Benghazi, Libya, was written by CIA officials, then revised by State Department and White House officials, according to news reports and witness testimony made available to Fox News.

Removed from the CIA's so-called talking points were references to “Islamic extremists” and Al Qaeda in Libya. And five days later, Susan Rice, U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, made the Sunday talk show rounds to say the attacks were “demonstrations” sparked by protests in Egypt over an anti-Islamic video on YouTube.

However, the video is never mentioned in the numerous talking-points drafts, according to a Weekly Standard story last week, based in part on a 43-page House report and records of official emails.

“Well, it was scrubbed,” Massachusetts Democratic Rep. Steve Lynch told “Fox News Sunday.” “It was totally inaccurate. There's no excuse for that. It was false information. And what they try to do is harmonize what happened in Benghazi with what happened everywhere else across the Middle East.”

Lynch also acknowledged the talking points were likely revised to reflect President Obama’s decry – with his re-election bid in the balance -- that “Al Qaeda is on the run.”

Maryland Democratic Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, also acknowledged Sunday the facts as told by Rice were wrong.

“At the time, as it turns out” the information was incorrect, he said on CBS’ “Face the Nation”

Ruppersberger, who was briefed by the CIA about the attacks in immediate aftermath, asked agency officials what congressional leaders could tell the public, according to The Weekly Standard story.

On Sunday, he also said he welcomes a House Oversight and Government Affairs Committee hearing this week in which Greg Hicks, the deputy chief of mission at the U.S. Embassy in Libya at the time of attacks, is expected to say Rice said the attacks didn’t appear to be “pre-meditated or pre-planned,” despite having information suggesting they were.

“That's what an investigation is about,” Ruppersberger told CBS. “Let's get the facts.”

Now, the question is, did Rice just decide to make up some insane story, or was she told to repeat some insane story; because that can be the only explanation, right? One or the other!!!!!!

Hopefully, truth will come to light; but when your dealing with pathological liars, it can take time. I mean, the scum bags must exhaust their every option. It's very difficult to be absolutely aware of sociopathic behavior and not get frustrated. Faith & patience play a big role. Karma does exist.

The focus has been on finding the truth.

We already know Obama's involvement: He had a 5pm meeting with Panetta, then was never heard from again until the next morning when he boarded a plane for Vegas. He wasn't involved until the cover up occurred.

Email evidence now shows that the State Department, CIA and the White House rewrote the talking points, removing all references to terror and al Qaeda and making up this crap about a video.

Actually it proves nothing...nothing, but of course, you can say it does. It wouldn't be wise for him to open his mouth on national TV as to who has what to say in testimony, now would it?

Special ops halted from responding to Benghazi attacks, U.S. diplomat says

The thing I find most disturbing is the liberal response to this. They don't care about this. They don't care to find out why our citizens died. They just don't want any Democrat looking bad. This isn't about a political party. This is about finding out who is responsible for the lack of response. We could have saved them but they were told to stand down. Don't you people even care or is politics all that matters? These are elected officials. They work for us and it seems they may have let us down.

Not sure if anyone else noticed it. But when Hillary was testifying before Congress, her outburst, when she was saying "WHAT DOES IT MATTTER, NOW, WHETHER IS WAS PROTESTERS OR SOMEONE WALKING DOWN THE STREET THAT DECIDED TO KILL AMERICANS, WHAT DOES IT MATTER NOW?" NEVER included the possibility that it could have been "terrorists".

Hillary'y fake rage was STILL covering "H"s AND her own ass. :)

You know damn well what Hillary was saying she was saying Americans have been killed, and instead of investigating and punishing those responsible, you are more interested in playing the political blame game, and are really disinterested in the people killed, I don't remember you freaks pulling this s--t on the Bush admin, after 911, but then we all know that he was a white rep, and they don't get the same scrutiny do they.

Dems are fine with our citizens being killed over there. They just consider it a very late term abortion.
