Non-Liberals Posting In The Lo Room

Recommended Posts

No reason.

I think it's because he likes the turmoil.

Sick bastard.

Well that's a shame. What do ya say Gaily, let's go all Castro/Guevara and revolutionize this shit! ;)

LOL

I tried.

Last year, I opened the LO to anyone who could post respectfully--most did. Then, it got changed back to the way it is now.

It's too bad, because I really liked having a variety of perspectives to discuss--but with the real Nazi in charge, it didn't last.

The owner doesn't care about honest debate--he wants views.

Hi, new here, wondering if this is only for liberals voting for President Obama, or can any liberal post here?

Any liberal can post in here.

Welcome!

Well here's my view: MAKE ANOTHER ROOM FOR REAL DEBATE!

*sigh* I should probably shut the hell up before I get banned from this site

You'll never be banned--you don't bring children or porn into a thread, and that's about the only way you can get banned here.

Which is tragic, given the lengthy list of idiots who need to be hit with a shovel on this site...

NOT you.

Completely agree. Don't think there's enough time in the world to hit all of them though :( LOL

The problems seems to be that posts to the "Liberals Only" room end up in the "No holds barred" room.

I have never entered the "Liberals Only" room but may have been suspended for responding to a discussion that started in the "Liberals Only" room but which I saw in the "No holds barred" room.

Can you take care of that, also?

Stay out of LO or take a forced vacation.

how do you know if you're a liberal or not? what do you have to believe in to be liberal?

Why did you tell me not I'm not a liberal if you don't even know what it takes to be a liberal?

I think most people read into it as a rhetorical question. but I will still stand by my commentary that by the definition of the word , I am far more liberal than you

Luckily, it isn't a contest.

Behave in the LO, or you won't be posting in the LO.

Well then the only conclusion I can come to is that you don't know what it means to be a liberal. Or know what it means to be respectful.

This is why I advocate for a new room to be created that allows a place for both liberals and conservatives who are looking for actual discussion and thoughtful debate. Everyone is welcome but if someone chooses to behave badly and act like so many do in the NHB they are banned from that room. If it is ran properly, this will allow the LO to remain what it is supposed to be and allow a place for people who want to debate without the annoying trolls that make the NHB section a complete waste of time. But this is just my oppinion. Thoughts?

Bah!!!!!!!

My bad a non liberal posted in here...........

Why not just take it to the water cooler????????

I feel like I am very respectful, I respect people to chose their path in life, what to buy, who to do business with, what personal risks to take. trust is the ultimate form of respect and I trust people

Here's the problem for me posting here... I get call a Liberal by the righties. I baled out of the Republican Party years ago so I must be to the left of them. I am currently not registered with any party. Members that still belong to my former party force me to look at where I am but have further alienated me. I do not think that I buy everything from the far-left either, however I find much more reality based input from the left and much more manipulated input from the right.

First, I feel that I am in a gray area posting here... second, once I post were, how can I still claim to be, somewhat, "the monkey in the middle"?

Well good for you buddy. However since you can't even be respectful in a simple discussion I have to doubt your abilities to be respectful in other areas of life. And since a moderator felt the need to tell you to keep it in line, I'm obviously not the only one that thought so.

I was born and raised in a Republican home. But as I got older and began developing my own political beliefs I moved farther and farther to the left. I evolved into someone who is very liberal. Like you though, I do not belong to any party. There are many Dems I like and have a lot of respect for but I have some problems with the Democratic Party, especially that they let the Republicans turn liberal into a dirty word.

Anyway if you were to place people on a scale from 100% far right to 100% far left, most people wouldn't fit on the edge of either end. In my oppinion if you are anywhere farther left than the middle you belong here. Not everyone has to have the same oppinions. I'm sure many in the LO would disagree with my position on gun control, for example.

Really what I value more is someone that can have a respectful conversation when it comes to issues we disagree on. Doesn't mean we can't defend our oppinions, but if we resort to putting eachother in the ground it's pointless. I'd prefer to discuss things with a respectful person who disagrees with me versus a nasty jerk that agrees with me.

So in my oppinion, simply as an active user on this site, as long as you at least lean liberal and can debate respectfully you should be very welcome to post here.

I like how you open with a condescending patronizing thing like " buddy " than proceed to play a holier than thou card. lol

Well I'm so sorry I'll try to change the way I speak for you. But just remember that you got disrespectful first, so you get what you give.

if Mitt Romney said today " I want to raise tax burden on the poor" would you respect him for it? that's what you're asking me to do is respect your positions, I don't have any beef with you, only your views ( which are wrong and hurt the poor )

I have yet to really see that you're anything liberal.

2. often initial capital letter ) noting or pertaining to a political party advocating measures of progressive political reform.

The disrespect was leveled toward me, not my views. I am completely fine with you disagreeing with my views (which are right and help the poor) I also really don't care rather or not you respect me as a person, but it's my oppinion that if you are going to have a discussion with somebody there has to be a level of respect involved in that debate.

I don't respect Romney's views and I don't particularly like him. But if I was to have a talk show or whatever and Romney came on as my guest I would treat him with respect and be stern but respectful in the debate between us. Otherwise it's just an obscene, pointless yelling match and a waste of both our time.
