  1. Am I the only one here who knows transgenderism is a choice?
  2. Hello. I am attempting to test our social limits and push our species further... I am Utensil. Founder of The Social Revolution Project. I have created a new sanctuary for freedom of information and global help. However I can't start a revolution alone. Please join the forum if you are interested in my views. www.srp.lefora.com For your pleasure; our opening statement: Statement 18/08/13; …and they realized they were naked, like genuinely butt naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves, and it all went down hill from there. Apparently. Looking around our planet can be a little bit bizarre at times. Our behaviour to an on looking intelligent species could even be considered irrational at times. If we take a long look at ourselves, it can be fair to say we need to change. At some point in our evolutionary history it appears we started expanding in brain power at a tremendous rate. Many evolutionary scientists believe that this rapid growth of our intelligence probably came from an enhanced or “cooked” diet. Regardless of the cause over the past couple of millennia we have become rapidly smarter and at the same time lost so much “physical ability.” As humanity changed, it began to change it’s environment, unwittingly changing the characteristics of its ancestors to come through the process of evolution. Our brains, and the brains of every animal are designed for survival of the environment. What it means to survive in 2013 is very much different to what it meant to survive in a time before the invention of the calendar. Our survival mechanisms, our organisation of our social groups have changed drastically. Allow us to provide a couple of examples: A male chimpanzee is displaying to a female chimp within the group. This is seen by the alpha male of the group as a threat to his position of authority. The alpha male displays an act of dominance towards the competing male and the hieratical order of the group is maintained as the competing male learns it is not a good idea to challenge the authority of a stronger male. A male human is displaying towards a female human in a bar. This is seen by the alpha male (or partner) of the female as a threat to his position of authority. The alpha male attempts to reason with the competing male using his intelligence. The competing male who is in a state of intoxication through use of alcohol fails to respond in an intelligent or fair way. A fight for dominance ensues and the alpha male wins a brawl. As a result of the conflict the alpha male is charged by a government authority for violence and taken away from his community and partner. An earlier ancestor of the 2013 human who is living in an environment with a large group decides that the most efficient and fairest way to arrange and keep order is to form a “democracy.” When a problem faces the group or a decision involving how the community is ordered needs to made, all members of the group meet and a vote is cast to decide what the majority of the community wishes to happen. A 2013 human who is living in an environment with a group of millions participates in voting for a “representative” to go to a centralised government. This representative ideally will represent the views of the people in a localised region for a set amount of years. A “representative” is not bound by any agreement to actually do this. -------------------- So why is it that as a species we cannot use our intelligence to avoid conflict? Why is it that we cannot organise our large communities to have a democracy that takes the opinion of all within it into account? Can it really be said that it would be too difficult for us to have a referendum on every policy made using the technology we have? We have Oyster Cards for travel, we have banking protection / transaction cards, yet we don’t have “voter cards” that can be tapped against one of the two electronic card readers that could say “for” and “against.” Would it genuinely not be better to allow a cheap second hand Pentium 2 process our law and governance as opposed to handing over our trust to “representatives.” After all, an object can’t really take a bribe or claim a second home on expenses. Rational solutions to real life problems. Lets start suggesting them, developing them and implementing them in the aid of the preservation of nature, our bodies, our minds and so that our generations to come can survive the environment they are born in without needless pain and suffering. The Social Revolution Project believes that rational solutions to the problems facing humanity can be achieved. This can be achieved through education, communication and non-violent co-operative means; provided that freedom of information is available to all. We aim to provide a place to enable people to question their own rationality and the rationality of their community in a supportive factually based way. You may feel like you’re top of the food chain but a lion would probably disagree. They may tell you that “there’s someone special out there for everyone” but statistically there are 3% more women than men in the world, so in reality there probably isn’t. Governments in low and middle-income countries are indebted to the tune of over $4tn dollars, and spend more than $1.4bn every day repaying these debts. Welcome to the Social Revolution Project. Let’s begin to Revolutionise Society using our factual knowledge and intelligence. Who knows? Perhaps we might just start a genuine global community that isn’t online. - Social Revolution Project Member
