  1. Vintage anti mask league: Anti-Mask League: San Francisco had its own shutdown protests during 1918 pandemic https://www.houstonchronicle.com/bayarea/article/Anti-Mask-League-San-Francisco-had-its-own-15255495.php?source=nlp When San Franciscans were first asked to don masks as the Spanish flu of 1918 raged through the city, the idea was met with patriotic fervor. ... That sentiment would change to outright defiance in the months that followed. Can't please everybody, I guess.
  2. Veterans disportionately homeless among general populace: it is estimated that over 40,000 U.S. veterans are currently experiencing homelessness, which represents a disproportionate segment of the total homeless population in the United States. https://dworakpeck.usc.edu/news/why-do-veterans-become-homeless Minorities make up an even bigger segment: 43.2 percent of veterans experiencing homelessness are people of color, compared with 18.4 percent of the general veteran population. 33.1 percent of veterans experiencing homelessness are African American, compared with 12.3 percent of the general veteran population https://endhomelessness.org/resource/people-color-make-much-larger-share-homeless-veteran-population-general-veteran-population/ I have not been on this forum for very long. But if you have read my posts you should know by now that I back everything I say with concrete proof. If this was merely my opinion I would say so and post the grounds for rendering such an opinion. You still sure you want that draft again? How many lives, and the well being of others, are you willing to sacrifice in order to have your draft?
  3. The Federal government created the Federal Torts Acts which makes errant Feds such as IRS agents liable for damages when they commit crimes against people: The Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) is a highly complex law that allows specific types of lawsuits against a federal government entity and federal employees who have acted within the scope of employment while causing injuries ... https://www.justia.com/injury/federal-tort-claims-act-ftca/ https://scholarship.law.umt.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1642&context=mlr The Federal government can enact such a law and apply it to the states under the Constitution's supremacy clause: The Supremacy Clause of the Constitution of the United States (Article VI, Clause 2), establishes that the Constitution, federal laws made pursuant to it, and treaties made under its authority, constitute the "supreme Law of the Land", and thus take priority over any conflicting state laws. from Wiki
  4. True. Especially in view of the fact that racist Hitlerian Fuhrman boasted of the criminal acts he had been accused of (and previously denied) in court. Now that they had those tapes of him making those boasts the City was stuck in the shttttt he created. Of course, all this can be avoided by simply making police rather than the City liable for their crimes. Police crimes would be ended overnight if the law was changed that way.
  5. The NAACP and local citizens need to conduct their own investigations into reopening those cases just like they did with Hitlerian Mark Fuhrman in Los Angeles. After that was done the City of Los Angeles had to pay $25 million to the victims of his many police crimes. Sad to say but police are probably the most corrupt institutions in the USA.
  6. I am Puerto Rican born and have 2 college degrees (one being a doctorate in law) but never found any use for either degree. In fact I had to sweep floors and wash toilets in order to make a livelihood. Now retired on Social Security and SNAP while residing in public housing. Life sure can be the shttts so I know where you're coming from.
  7. Bush is also from Texas, opened the borders, and refused to prosecute those who hired illegals. He even tried to give them unconditional amnesty! He started 2 wars under false pretenses thereby committing treason and killing our troops. Naughty bassturd wasn't he?
  8. Bring back the draft? Well, while your son is forcibly in the army for 4 years, someone else's daughter is in college for that time period. When they both apply for a job who is going to get it? The one who mopped floors for those years or the one with a degree and at least 3 years of summer internship? The draft will only make the poor poorer and make the rich richer. Therefore, not a good idea.
  9. A complaint with the EEO would have been without charge and put the place on notice that it is possibly in violation of the law.
  10. Little press? I saw it on the news right away as the cops and prosecution took immediate action. By contrast, the Georgia incident took several months to develop.
  11. Yes, we discussed that. But what are the others issures where you said Dems blamed Trump for something they did.
  12. Willie Nelson! One of my faves. As for living in Texas, sorry to say I have never been south of Kansas City so I wouldn't know about living there. Re military life, I've had several relatives and friends in it. Some liked it but many did not.
  13. I wasn't here at the time someone made that post. But it is true that both did put kids in cages. The difference being that under Obama it was for a shorter term. More examples, please. Oh by the way, Trump has said "I inherited a mess" but never proved it.
  14. To Texas's credit, they do produce very good grapefruit there: https://tinyurl.com/ydzaylt4
  15. Nonsense. Reagan and Bush brought in more. In fact Obama has been called deporter-in-chief by righties and lefties alike.
  16. Good of you to say that BOTH parties have a hand in all this. All too often right wingers restrict their condemnations to Dems when it is actually their party that is the principle (not necessarily the exclusive) cause of this mess.
  17. There wouldn't be any sanctuary Dems if the Republicans hadn't brought them into the USA. Oh by the way, it is time for the government to be rid of all those draft dodgers from Israel and Russia that are living in the USA.
  18. Politicians have called for cease and desist. But their calls have gone ignored for all these years. Therefore, the only solution is ACTION. Arrrest and prosecute those Republicans who hire illegals and fire the Justice Department for its refusal to obey the law.
  19. It is a sad fact that military suicides are twice as high as most other professions: https://tinyurl.com/yapn5vnb What does that say about military life?
