  1. This was purely a Hypothetical what if. I was not trying to be divisive. I give Joe credit for reaching out to Bernie supporters far more than Hillary ever did in 2016. Joe on the current trajectory will defeat Trump and I sure hope he does. As I am sure everyone else on this sub-forum wants the same result.

  2. This is why I can't stand him and say he does not bring the country together. He divides the country the same way the democrats do. It doesn't matter if the governors did mishandle the riots. The president needs to try to bring everyone together and not say stupid stuff like this.

  3. President Trump was caught red-handed inciting Neo-Nazis to take up arms and slaughter innocent black looters and rioters, when this smoking gun photo of him was exposed showing him petting a dog.

  5. He's been a LYING sack of shit all his life. He has to go. The demonstration in Washington was as peaceful as it gets. Because he wanted a photo op holding a Bible in front of a church, he demanded the chaos ensue to make him look strong. It only made him look like more of an asshole if that's possible, and obviously it is possible.

  9. We find hope where we can and fine police officers like this give us hope. You’re right, baby steps. We’ll win but it is going to be a long long road. I spent the day in NHB taking in Trumpoid ugliness on this issue. It makes me angry and depressed. I needed this thread and the thread by @RollingRock to help me remember that decency and joy still exist in America. Thank you for that.

  16. The asshole is calling anybody "weak" who does not identify all protesters, law abiding or not, as "thugs." Fuck him and his goddamn fucking photo op at St. John's Episcopal Church in DC. And fuck the thug members of his criminal enterprise administration who joined him in the photos. On second thought, fuck them if they joined him or not. Law abiding protesters and members of the clergy, teargassed and shot up with rubber bullets and flash bangs in Lafayette Square to clear out the area a half hour before curfew for this asshole's fucking photo op. 17. I would not question a person ability to lead untill he was in position to be my leader I have zero Zero threads trying to trash Biden I have always stated I would vote for him I spend my last few months considering if the person I would vote for is worthy of being my leader and I talk about it , so what do I do ? I live in Idaho not many people in my world on the left that i can speak to and no ! I should not have to share my thought with the entire world as i intend to share it here with the very few and even suggested a discord channel simply to avoid putting words on paper for everyone else to see but I find spycar makes a thread like this that would die with 2 pages somehow go on for 4 to 6 I am off this thread and tired of the derailing it or knowing exactly who was coming to derail it so yeah call me a troll

  20. It's not like there hasn't been some concern in that regard. There are articles out there not written by right wingers voicing concern. Saying otherwise is to deny reality. That doesn't mean people aren't going to vote for Joe. Most will. Afford what? If people have concerns about any candidate, they have a right to voice those concerns. Talk it through, get other perspectives, discuss the article. THAT'S how people who disagree on some things can come together to win an election. Telling those we disagree with to just "shove off" accomplishes nothing but division......and, in turn, low voter turnout. And we can win it. We WILL win it. That is, IF we don't drive away potential voters by arguing about the past or focusing on differences (instead of trying to find common ground).

  21. I wish there were more police officers like the one in the OP. The problem is, many relate to Trump and the Far Right. So they see those who protest about the murder of George Floyd, as the enemy. Some of these officers probably sympathize with with the policemen that murdered George Floyd. And these are the officers who express the most anger at the protesters. This comes into sharp contrast when compared to the calm, non-confrontational way police handled White protesters, at state capitals, who were armed to the teeth ... Many with scoped, semi-auto rifles.

  22. I agree Tim Kaine brought nothing strategically or policy wise to that ticket. I sure hope the Democrats pick strategically this time around. I'm leaning more towards a pick that might have some influence within the Electoral College. Someone from a Swing State...

  23. If you step back, it's easy to see that the cops are victims of this idiotic approach to policing that we have, too. Here, go into this neighborhood where you know basically nothing about who is who, where people look different from you, basically assume everyone is strapped and selling drugs, and using only approved civil law enforcement techniques, without treating anyone unfairly. It's a ludicrous job and it takes an enormous toll on them. The communities have to be empowered to help, and the mission has to shift from interdiction and arrest to legalizing the drugs and arming the citizens with the resources they need to build their communities, with all the support they want and need from the law.

Police officers blocked traffic from Brambleton Avenue and Granby Street during the march and did not prevent the crowd from moving as it pleased hopefully the thugs don’t show up now and screw it up.

  26. I am pretty sure that the Minnesota police are aware that they are obliged to stop malfeasance of their colleagues. Civilians are not obliged to stop a crime in progress. The Police are sworn to "Serve and Protect" the people. They were not serving George Floyd. They were not protecting George Floyd. They were witnessing a murder in progress. How is that NOT a proper function of the police? Why do you think that they were summarily fired?

  27. He certainly is a lot more than that, Old Mack. He is someone with no leadership qualities. He is someone who cares only for what will benefit him and his reelection. He is someone who doesn't know how to govern because he doesn't have the intellectual capacity to defuse a situation like the one we have now. He has no idea what to do to try and help the situation and only further divides us with his useless and inflammatory rhetoric because he believes it makes him look strong. He isn't strong. He is a weak little man with no morals who degrades women. He is someone who wants to close post offices to keep people from mail-in voting because, without any proof, he claims election fraud. He is a loud-mouth, no brain asshole, who stands in front of a church for a few minutes holding a Bible, looking like the fool that he is, for no other purpose than to try to look as if he is religious, which is one of the most laughable and pathetic things he's done, and that list is a long one. He is not a leader. He is the most divisive president I can remember, yes, even more divisive than the right says Obama was. He is someone who only wants to mollify his group of base supporters who love his actions and his illusion of being a "strong man." He is someone who constantly screams about the far left without giving equal time to the far right (which are just as bad). Any extremist group shouldn't be tolerated because they're not logical and aren't interested in a united and strong America. He is someone who would love nothing more than to be a dictator. He is someone who won an election after screaming the entire time that said election was rigged. What is it that you like about him, Old Mack? I'd really love to know, because he isn't someone who can be respected and bring this country together, which we desperately need.

  28. Where? I only see trump saying he will send in troops. He won't though. Because just like everything else he had to do that was important he left up to the governors. Remember. "I'm not responsible" Same here. Trump is just blowing hot air again to rile you morons up. From your pathetic post it looks like it worked.

  43. Stopping a crime like the one those officers stood around and watched with their thumbs up their asses takes courage and character, which they either had none or loved it that their cohort was torturing a man. I believe it was all of those things.
